Jeanne Burmeister of Prevent Blindness Iowa joined us in the studio this morning just after the 6:30 news. The 30th Annual "Shot in the Dark" Golf Event is coming up on August 18th at Willow Creek Golf Course. This unique event presents interesting challenges for all types of golfers and introduces them to the major disability of blindness as they test their skills at night. Bob Larson of Teen Challenge and Gary Presnall of Bankers Trust joined us in the studio this morning just after the 8:30 news. The big Teen Challenge Golf Marathon is coming up on September 11th at Beaver Creek Golf Course in Grimes. If you would like to help the people that are addicted to drugs and alcohol that are going thru the Teen Challenge program, you can either sign up to golf and get pledges for each hole golfed (100 holes) or donate to someone who is already golfing. You can also sponsor a hole. We will have a special phone number to call the morning of September 11th to give donations and you'll have a chance to win a Honda generator from Van Wall...one with an ISU sticker and one with an Iowa sticker.
