Callista Gould of the Culture and Manners Institute in West Des Moines says we also tend to bring our problems to the workplace.
A recent study by Harvard Medical School and UCLA says nearly one in five workers - a share the study calls "disturbingly high" - say they face a hostile or threatening environment at work. Gould says it's important to try to keep a positive attitude if you're in a situation with a bad boss.
She adds, it's the problem solvers who are the ones that survive.
