Can You Walk To Help People With Lupus? Also, Eclipse Pictures

Karla Dixon and Larry Cotlar of the Lupus Foundation joined us in the studio after the 8:30 news this morning to tell us about a special Walk To End Lupus Now.  There are approximately 15,000 Iowans living with Lupus.  There are many different maladies associated with Lupus and it is an autoimmune disease for which there is no cure.  The one symptom that most people with Lupus have, it a rash resembling a butterfly on the face.  The Walk along with a raffle with tons of sports memorabilia as well as the Punching Pandas will be this Saturday, August 26th from 9AM til Noon at Jordan Creek Town Center in West Des Moines (around the lake).  You can register online at www.lupusia.org and click on "events".  You can sign up as a team or as an individual.  For more information, you can contact Karla at 515-279-3048.  You can hear the entire interview below...

Check out the Van and Bonnie Facebook page to see some great photos of the eclipse our listeners sent to us. Click here.

Tomorrow on Van and Bonnie, Susan Bunz from Meals From The Heartland will be joining us in the studio.  Jeff Angelo will be sitting in for Van.  Don't forget to sign up at www.whoradio.com to win the Beef, Hog and Lamb from the Iowa State Fair Sale of Champions courtesy of Hy-Vee.

Enjoy this gorgeous day!
