Former Des Moines cop charged with Felony Misconduct

A Des Moines police officer who resigned after being investigated for evidence tampering is now charged with Felony Misconduct in Office.

In court documents filed in Polk County Court, Tyson Teut is accused taking methamphetamine residue from one suspect in one case and planting it as evidence for a different suspect in a separate case.

The criminal complaint says Teut then signed a legally binding affidavit, knowing the information he swore to be true, was false.  Polk County Jail photo Tyson Teut, at right.

Another former police officer who was also being investigated and who also resigned, 30-year-old Joshua Judge has not been charged.
