Listen to Bob Quinn and Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey present the award to the family on today's Big Show here:
“The Mosher family has three generations on the farm, working together to care for their animals, protect the environment and serve their neighbors and community. It is great to be able to present this deserving family with the Gary Wergin Good Farm Neighbor Award,” Northey said.
The family was nominated for the award by their neighbor and landlord BJ Hoffman. In his nomination, he highlighted the family’s care for their animals, saying the family doesn’t just care for their animals, they “build a relationship with their stock.” He also highlighted their commitment to protecting the environment and serving the community. The family has also been very involved with the Iowa Farm Bureau, Iowa Cattlemen’s Association, 4-H, Angus Breeders Association and several other organizations. A large crowd gathered to honor the Moshers:
