Trader Joe's chicken sausage recalled

More than 34-hundred pounds of chicken breakfast sausage products are being recalled, due to misbranding and undeclared allergens. The US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service says the items include one-pound vacuum sealed packages containing five pieces of "Trader Joe's Chicken Breakfast Sausage."

The sausage, made by DiLuigi Foods of Danver's Massachusetts, was produced and packaged from August 10, 2017 to August 24th, 2017.

The product contains soy lecithin, a known allergen, which is not declared on the product label.

The products subject to recall have the code “P-4398” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to Trader Joe’s retail locations nationwide.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.

Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.

Consumers are urged not to consume them, products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

There was also a pork sausage recall recently, due to concerns of listeria.  Click HERE for details.
