Iowa's Bill Northey heading to USDA

Pres. Trump has nominated Iowa's Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey  to be the Under Secretary of  Agriculture and the nomination is getting quick support from Sonny Perdue, the US Secretary of Agriculture. 

Northey's nomination had been speculated upon for quote some time but was finally announced Friday night.   

In a release from the USDA,  Perdue applauded the nomination of Northey as Under Secretary for Farm Production and Conservation (FPAC), where he will oversee three critical USDA agencies: the Farm Service Agency, Natural Resources Conservation Service, and the Risk Management Agency.

The nomination also received quick support from Iowa's Senator Chuck Grassley who tweeted his support saying "The Voice of Ia Ag will now be Voice of American Ag".  

Additional support was tweeted by the Iowa Soybean Association, "Congrats to Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey on his nomination as undersecretary of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). "
