FC Stone is out with their latest crop production prediction and they have raised them a bit. They say 166.9 average corn yield, which means a 13.9 billion bushel crop, and 49.8 bushels per acre on soybeans, that's 4.4 billion bushels. Iowa Ag Secretary Bill Northey was touring the Farm Progress Show grounds with several other state Secretaries of Ag, and they were weighing in on the final production. Listen here:
Now, what is important to remember about FC Stone's numbers is they are a prediction of what the final USDA yield report will say and NOT an their estimate of what is actually in the fields.
