The Jasper County Sheriff's Office is using an on-line auction site, (govdeals.com) to get rid of stuff that's been piling up in the department's basement, items that were confiscated during burglary investigations.

Deputy Jeremy Burdess tells WHO Radio News there are several lots.  One features a large assortment of tools, including hand tools, air compressors, saws, and bolt cutters.  Another lot features bicycles and household goods.  Yet another lot has a number of brand new items,  including televisions and computers.   There's even a lot with sporting goods and brand new drones.

Deputy Burdess says proceeds from the sale will pay for new equipment for the department, such as fire-arms and tasers.

He says if anyone sees an item they think was stolen from them, they're welcome to contact him at the Jasper County Sheriff's Office.

The on-line auction runs until September 11th.
