Veterans Honor Flight Needs You! & Hawkeye/Cyclone Game Preview

Jeff Ballenger and John Forbes with the Central Iowa Honor Flight joined us in the studio this morning to ask for the community support for the Veterans Honor Flight that will be flying out on September 11-12 here in Des Moines.  Fifteen busloads of WWII, Korean and Vietnam Veterans will be making their way from the Airport Holiday Inn on Fleur Drive to the Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center from 4:30 to 6PM on September 11th.  They are asking the community to help line the route holding flags or signs for the veterans.  The caravan will be going north on Fleur Drive to MLK Parkway, then north on 7th street.  Turn right on Crocker Street and then to the NW entrance of Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center.  Parking is available in the lot north of Crocker at 3rd and 5th.  Almost 1/2 of this flight will be Vietnam Veterans.  You can hear the entire interview  here...

Ross Peterson of Sound-Off, heard after every Hawkeye football game on WHO Radio, talked to us this morning for a special Hawkeye Preview of the big game with the Cyclones this weekend.  Here's what Ross had to say about the game....
