(Des Moines, Iowa) Officials with the Department of Management and the Department of Revenue will hold a budget briefing Wednesday to talk about Iowa's financial picture.
The state's been dealing with declining revenues for some-time, and Governor Kim Reynolds has not ruled out the possibility of a "Special Session" to adjust spending.
At last report, state revenue was about $75 million short of state spending. The governor has authority to transfer up to $50 million in emergency funds to cover a short-fall. If more funds are required, lawmakers will be called into a special session.
Governor Reynolds says she will not be at the briefing tomorrow.
