Des Moines police have charged 55 year old Jimmie Haines with stabbing his son Wednesday night.
The stabbing took place around 10:30pm at Haines' apartment at the Royal Oaks apartment complex in the 2400 block of Hickman Road.
18 year old Josiah Haines was stabbed in the chest and was taken to an area hospital for surgery. He's expected to survive the injury.
Jimmie Haines is in the Polk County Jail, charged with willful injury causing serious injury. He's being held without bond.
