Rent rains have improved Iowa's drought picture, but the weekly U.S. Drought Monitor still shows a portion of south central Iowa in extreme or severe drought, including Clarke, Warren, and Marion Counties.
More than half of Iowa is in some form of drought.
The report includes rain recorded early this week. Central Iowa received between one and four inches of rain Monday night.
