Update on Bob Seger Concert & New Hours for The Farmers Market!

Kelly Foss of the Downtown Des Moines Farmers Market joined us in the studio this morning just after the 7:30 news.  Starting with this weekend's Market, the Fall hours kick-in.  The Market will start at 8AM and will run until Noon each Saturday in October.  You'll find zucchini, butternut squash, tomatoes, eggplant, pumpkins, apples, beets and potatoes.  Don't forget, you can take the DART D-Line free shuttle downtown that runs all morning long between the Capitol Building and Western Gateway Park.  You can jump on anywhere along Grand Avenue and Locust Street.  The Farmer's Market covers 9 blocks in the downtown Court Avenue area with 300 vendors.  You can hear the entire interview with Kelly here...

Chris Connolly of the Iowa Events Center and Katherine Rupp of the American Quilt Society joined us in the studio just after the 8:30 news.  Chris talked about the new security measures at the Iowa Events Center as well as the opening date for the new Convention Hotel attached to the Iowa Events Center. He also explained what to do if you have Bob Seger tickets and talked about upcoming concerts.  Katherine said there will be 1200 quilts on display at the show...there will be workshops and classes as well. They are expecting 15,000 attendees over the course of the show from today thru Saturday.  $10,000 goes to the Best-In-Show Quilt.  Hear the entire interview here...
