A Des Moines truck driver was killed in a wreck on I-80, near Stuart in Adair County.
The Iowa State Patrol says Michael Byers was driving a semi westbound on I-80, yesterday (Wednesday) morning, at 6:45, when the truck left the road, went into a ditch, and rolled.
Byers was thrown from the truck. He was flown to Iowa Methodist Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The truck was pulling a tanker loaded with hazardous materials, so HAZMAT crews were called in to unload the truck.
