Check out this great video of Van, Bonnie & Jeff Angelo doing the "Crack An Egg For Hunger" Challenge! Today is World Egg Day and the Iowa Egg Council is challenging all of you to do the "Crack An Egg For Hunger" Challenge! Here's how it works. Take a carton of eggs, hard-boil 8 of them and leave 4 raw. You need to have two participants appear in each video. Each participant randomly chooses an egg and smashes it on their forehead or top of their head. Proceed until a raw egg is cracked. Post a video of the contest to your social media and tag with #CrackAnEgg and #IowaEgg and the Iowa Egg Council will donate a dozen of eggs for each video to the Iowa Food Bank. Participants are also asked to give a donation to the Iowa Food Bank. And don't forget to put a "challenge" to your friends or co-workers on the end of your video! We challenged the TV-13 morning staff including Jeriann Ritter.
Mark Allen stayed up last night to see the end of his Chicago Cubs baseball game and he apologized ahead of time for all day...that he might be grumpy. This conversation did not end anywhere near it started....check it out!!!
We spoke with Kelly Reilly of the Des Moines Botanical Gardens this morning. They are hosting their Annual Symposium on Saturday, October 21st. You can also hear the entire interview here...
The IMT Des Moines Marathon is this weekend as well as the Covered Bridge Festival in Winterset...and of course, the Downtown Des Moines Farmers Market. On Monday on Van and Bonnie, we'll get you caught up on the weekend, we'll have more information on the Van & Bonnie Pork-A-Palooza and we'll have Nancy Lundstrum from Sister States on the air with us.
Have a great weekend!
