DES MOINES, IOWA - A Des Moines area news media outlet reported a runway tarmac crumbled at Des Moines International Airport Saturday.
"That is not true." General Manager Kevin Foley told WHO Radio News when we called to ask about the report.
Foley says a small area of the runway heaved after heavy rain, and some standing water was visible, but at 5:55 p.m. he says it was nearly repaired. "All flights will resume within minutes." Foley said.
The National Weather Service recorded more than an inch of rain in Des Moines Saturday by 6:00 p.m
