Rare Blonde raccoon spotted in Madison County, Iowa

(Madison County, Iowa)  Iowa Department of Natural Resources Fur bearing wildlife expert Vince Evelsizer tells WHO Radio News that the blonde raccoon, featured on the DNR's Facebook page is the real deal.

He suspects the unusual-looking animal with the recessive gene, is doing what most are this time of year, fattening up for winter on acorns, apples, and field corn.   Raccoons do not hibernate during the winter, but Evelsizer says their activity will slow way down.
