The zombie theme is timely because of Halloween. Officials hope it might also strike a chord with fans of the popular Walking Dead TV show, which features zombies.
The Iowa D-O-T reports the number of people killed in Iowa crashes so far this year is up to 282, an increase of 12 from last Monday.
Last year, there were 402 people killed on Iowa roads.
