An apartment fire at 6th and Douglas Avenues in Des Moines, Tuesday morning, ended in the death of one person.
Crews were called to the municipal housing around 5:30 this morning and when they got there, flames were visible from the 3rd floor.
The fire was contained to an apartment on that floor and the person killed was an occupant. There was another minor injury but everyone else got out safely and investigators are working to determine the cause.
