Connie Boesen and Josh Mandelbaum won seats on the Des Moines City Council, in Tuesday's city election.
Boesen, a former Des Moines School Board Member, won the "At Large" seat. She defeated incumbent Skip Moore.
Mandelbaum defeated former Councilman Mike Kiernan and Abshir Omar Mahamed to represent Ward 3. Mandlebaum replaces Christine Hensley who after serving 25 years on the council, chose not to run for re-election.
In West Des Moines, Renee Hardman defeated Rick Messerschmidt for the "At Large" seat in West Des Moines. Russ Trimble defeated Nadir Mehta in West Des Moines Ward 3.
Windsor Heights voters had nine candidates running for city council, the winners were Mike Jones, Joseph Jones, and Mike Loffredo II. Dave Burgess won the mayor's race in Windsor Heights.
Urbandale City Council: Ron Pogee & David Russell garnered the most votes for the "At Large" seat.
