Drake University introduces new Athletic Director

(Des Moines, Iowa)   Drake University is introducing a new Athletic Director.   Des Moines native, Brian Hardin returns to Des Moines in December.  He's currently employed by Marquette University's Athletics Department.

Hardin told our news partner Channel 13, WHO-TV  he wants to let everyone know that under his leadership Drake Athletics will support the mission of the University.

Hardin says he does not plan to make a lot of big changes initially, but will look for opportunities, to find ways to get people excited about athletics, and increase revenues.

He says among his top priorities, will be the Drake Men's basketball program.   He says as that program gets better, so does entire department and the university.

He says the Des Moines community has proven it can get behind Drake Basketball, and has shown that with Drake's successful Women's Basketball program.

Hardin replaces Sandy Hatfield Clubb, who resigned in August.
