Cedar Rapids woman arrested in fatal hit and run crash

(Cedar Rapids, Iowa)  A Cedar Rapids woman, wanted in a fatal hit and run crash last month, has been arrested.  

Twenty-five year old Ashley Pennington is accused of hitting a motorcycle October 1st,  at C Street and 20th avenue SW, then leaving the scene.

The motorcycle rider, 63-year-old Michael Olson of Cedar Rapids died of his injuries October 17th at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Police say the car involved had been stolen, and had stolen plates as well.

Pennington's  charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident- Resulting in Death.  She's also charged with theft and forgery.  Pennington had been in the Polk County Jail, facing other charges, and has been taken to the Linn County Jail.
