Madison County, Iowa man, accused in church threat

(Winterset, Iowa)   A man from Cumming, Iowa is facing harrassment and terrorism charges, accused of leaving a threatening voice mail message at St Patrick's Irish Settlement Catholic Church, in Madison County.

Sheriff Jason Barnes tells WHO Radio News his office was notified about the threat around 7 o'clock this (Friday) morning.  The caller stated he intended to blow up the church.

Deputies ultimately arrested 75-year old Robert Cain at his residence.  Cain was taken to the Madison County Jail.  Authorities did not find any explosive devices.

The church was the same location where Saint-Pope John Paul the Second visited during his trip in 1979.
