Worker burned in power line mishap in Des Moines

(Des Moines, Iowa)  A man working on a power line in Des Moines suffered burns after being hit by arcing electricity this (Monday) morning.

Police say the PSC Aevenia worker was injured near Cornell Street and E. Madison Avenue, in the Highland Park neighborhood around 10:30am.

Police say he was in an insulated bucket, and was wearing proper gear, when he was hit by an electrical arc.   The man, who's name has not been released, was taken to Methodist Medical Center, then flown to Iowa City  for treatment of 1st and 2nd degree burns.
