Cindy Stanbro of the Iowa Rock & Roll Music Association joined us by telephone this morning to chat about the Iowa Rock & Roll Museum at Arnold's Park. They are getting a new, much larger space and they are looking for donations to their "Gift A Legacy" campaign. As a donor, you would be on their "Wall of Fame" in the new building to be opened in May of 2019. They are closed right now due to renovations at Arnold's Park, but will be reopening this spring. You can get more information at www.IowaRockandRoll.com. You can hear Cindy's entire interview here...
Two large homes from the Drake University neighborhood were on the move last night to the KLM International Campus in Sherman Hills. Kenny Linhart said they will be located in the parking lot to the east of the Church. These new homes will be Christian boarding homes for college kids...one for the guys and one for the gals. There is also a Culinary School coming. For more information, go to www.KLMINTL.com or call 515-710-7585. You can hear the entire interview here...
The conversation in the last 20 minutes of Van and Bonnie this morning turned a little crazy and a quote was brought up by Van that Jeff had said last week, but Van couldn't quite remember the quote...it didn't come out quite right....however, Jeff and I could not remember the actual quote either. Hear the conversation here...
But then, a listener sent us a text on our studio textline and gave us the quote! I told Jeff I couldn't believe he said something memorable enough that a listener would remember it for a week! Get the answer here...
Congratulations to Kevin and Jennifer Adams of Norwalk on winning the new furnace courtesy of Bell Brothers and Newsradio 1040 WHO!!!!!

Friday is a very special day...the Pinky Swear Radiothon will be in full swing from 5AM til 7PM! We will have all sorts of matching donations as well as great prizes you can win by donating! Remember, all the money goes to help families of kids with cancer here in Iowa. Also, Friday night is the CityView Most Likeable People Charity Event from 7-10PM at Decades Event Center (the old Dahl's on Grand in West Des Moines)! I have been nominated and am a finalist and will be raising money for my charity, Heartland Chapter of the Scleroderma Foundation. The person with the most votes gets an extra $750.00 for their charity! The only way to vote is to attend the event. You get one vote with your admission...extra votes are $1.00 each with all the money going to that charity. You can get all the details here....as well as purchase tickets to the event. Thank you in advance for your help! I hope to see you there Friday night!
