Three hunters injured in Iowa hunting accidents

Three people are recovering after recent, separate hunting mishaps.    The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says an eleven-year-old boy was accidentally shot in the hip, by his 13-year-old brother while hunting with their grandfather yesterday (Sunday) in Johnson County.    It happened as the two boys fired at a deer that came between them.

A hunter near New Market, in Taylor County was accidentally shot in the arm yesterday (Sunday) by another hunter, who mistook him for a deer, in tall, dense vegetation.  Twenty-eight-year-old Justin Scroggie was injured, by a slug fired by 42-year-old Brooks Lambert of Clarinda.

The DNR is also sharing details about a December 5th hunting accident,  near Nodaway, in Taylor County.  In that case, a 65-year-old John Fish of Villisca was hit in the foot by a slug from a 15-year-old hunter in his hunting party.
