Rare fish pulled from Missouri River in Iowa

(Des Moines, Iowa)     The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says they recently helped their counter-parts in Nebraska catch a rare fish, a pallid sturgeon in the Missouri River.

The species is  on the federal endangered species list.

Fisheries experts tagged and sampled the fish, to help in the recovery of this species.

Experts say the shovelnose sturgeon is legal to fish for and keep, but not pallid or lake sturgeons.
