(Des Moines, Iowa) Des Moines Police say the extreme cold has apparently presented an opportunity for some car thieves.
Police say starting just after Midnight, New Year's Day and 5 a.m. Tuesday morning, there were 10-reported vehicle thefts, throughout the city.
In seven of the 10 cases, the vehicles had been left running, while unattended, in an attempt to warm up the vehicle.
