(NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE) An Iowan, who heard President Donald Trump's speech (Monday) at the American Farm Bureau meeting in Nashville, Tennessee says the President's comments about rolling back regulations, such as the Waters of the US regulation were very well received.
Iowa Farm Bureau President Craig Hill says the Trump administration plans to write a new WOTUS rule, and the American Farm Bureau wants to have input on that. He says they've have been promised that they will have input on a new rule. The Farm Bureau had opposed the orginal WOTUS rule, calling it a government over reach.
Hill told WHO Radio's Bob Quinn President Trump's comments today were "appropriate" and "right on target."
Hill says was encouraged to see the Chairman of the Senate Agriculture Committee, Pat Roberts (R-KS) with President Trump in Nashville. Hill speculated that perhaps that's a sign work will continue on a new Farm Bill, and that President Trump will be willing to encourage the completion of that work. The current Farm Bill expires at the end of this September.
