(WEST DES MOINES, IOWA) West Des Moines Police are investigating a report that a 12-year-old student was approached Friday January 5th, 2018 shortly before 5 p.m. in the 55-hundred block of E.P. True Parkway, while the student walked home from school.
Police were contacted by a staffer of the West Des Moines Community School District, who stated a parent emailed that their child was approached by an unknown male in a vehicle and the male asked the student to get into the vehicle. The student refused and ran home.
West Des Moines Police Officers contacted the student and their mother. The student stated they did not see the driver but believed the voice was a male and described the vehicle as 4-door Chevy Dully Pickup with a Green Bay Packers receiver hitch cover.
The West Des Moines Police Department is working with the school district and family to investigate the incident.
