Parking changes coming to Des Moines

(DES MOINES, Iowa)  Parking changes in Des Moines begin next week.  Changes will come to the Court Avenue District downtown January 17th.  Parking changes are coming to the East Village in the spring, and the Western Gateway this summer.

The changes came out of a public-private partnership addressing businesses who wanted some downtown parking changes.

Organizers say the idea is to encourage employees and those using long term parking, to use the $1 per hour City garages, or other off street parking options, to free up more spaces for visitors.

Other changes include:

All meters in Court District now accept credit cards

 5th & Cherry St.
