First some snow, then bitter cold coming to Iowa

Snow prediction - National Weather Service Des Moines

A quick moving Canadian Clipper will drop through the state of Iowa Sunday  evening. 

WHO TV Channel 13 Meteorologists say snow will start in Northern Iowa around 4:00 p.m. and will arrive in the Des Moines Metro around 7:00. The snow will move out by 10:00 p.m.  Snow fall amounts from a half inch to 1.5 inches are likely.   

Temperatures will plummet behind this clipper weather system. 

In the Des Moines area we will see day time highs Monday of only 5 degrees. Wind chills will be below zero.  

A Wind Chill Advisory will go into effect for Northern Iowa beginning at 3 AM on Monday morning and continue through noon on Tuesday.

After a couple of very cold days, temperatures will rise again into the 20s and 30s on Wednesday and Thursday, and will reach the 40s on Friday.
