Mary Kramer says she should've made sexual harrassment training permanent

Mary Kramer says she should "have institutionalized" the sexual harrassment training she started when she was the President of the Iowa Senate.

Kramer was asked to assess the current situation in the Iowa Legislature following the lawsuit against the state by former Republican Senate Staffer Kirsten Andersen, who was awarded over a million dollars in damages.

In her report to lawmakers, Kramer's recommending that there be a policy prohibiting sexual harrassment and discrimination for "everyone...not just lawmakers, staff the media and others."

Speaking on WHO Radio's "Need to Know With Jeff Angelo program Tuesday, Kramer acknowledged that her experience as a human resources manager prompted her to have sexual harassment training and retraining for all legislators and staff while she was the President of the Iowa Senate.

She told Angelo that she faults herself for "not institutionalizing" that policy.
