Man pleads guilty to threatening Iowa's Joni Ernst

(COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa)  An Omaha man has pleaded guilty in federal court to making threats against U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst.   A federal court official tells WHO Radio news 64-year old Robert Simet will be sentenced May 23rd in Council Bluffs.

Simet had stated that he believed Senator Ernst was involved with Islamic State terrorists, and he told others last summer he might killer her at an event in Pacific Junction.    

A Mills County Sheriff's deputy got wind of the threat, and contacted the FBI.
