World Confidence In US Leadership At New Low

According to recent Gallup World Poll, more global leaders are saying they disapprove of American leadership than those who approve, including key allies.

The poll suggests that global approval of U.S. leadership dropped roughly 18-percent in 2017 under President Trump.

About 30-percent of the 134 countries still approve or have no qualms with American leadership, but nearly 43-percent of global leaders say they now disapprove.

Portugal, Belgium, Norway and Canada led the charge in the steepest declines in approval ratings.

The question is:  are the American people REALLY concerned with what the leaders of other nation's think?

You'll recall that, after Brexit passed, I told listeners that Donald Trump would win the Presidency with his "America First" philosophy.  It's the same philosophy that motivated voters to approve Brexit and rebel against the "elites" in their countries.

EVERY country believes that the government's first priority is to protect the interest of citizens first.  The rise of a "globalist" philosophy among some in leadership in the past few years has not been warmly welcomed THROUGHOUT the world -   not just in America.
