DES MOINES, IOWA - With the lowest unemployment numbers in 17 years, Iowa now ranks in the top-5 for lowest unemployment in the nation.
"Iowa's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate does continue to decrease." Cory Kelly with Iowa Workforce tells WHO Radio News.
"We've dropped to 2.8% for December." He says. That compares to the national unemployment rate of 4.1%
Iowa added over 7,000 jobs in December, and Kelly says the manufacturing sector added the most jobs for Iowa in December, more than 3,000 new jobs.
