The National Pork Board has named Leon Sheets as America’s Pig Farmer of the Year for the remainder of the 2018 program year. The Ionia, Iowa farmer is excited about sharing his passion about pig farming with others:

The previous winner of this national role, Leslie McCuiston, stepped down after taking a new position in the agricultural industry where she will not directly work with pigs. Sheets was a finalist for the honor last fall and the panel unanimously voted to elevate with for the America’s Pig Farmer of the Year responsibilities.
