Juvenile in custody after Martensdale school bomb threat

MARTENSDALE, Iowa - A boy is in custody after a bomb threat at Martensdale St. Mary's School this morning.

Acting Superintendent Josh Moser tells WHO Radio News that school officials were informed at 9:00 o'clock that there was a bomb in the cafeteria.

"The Warren County Sheriff was notified and evacuation procedures were initiated."  Moser says.

Warren County Sheriff Brian Vos released a statement saying the school was locked down for a time while the Sheriff's Department and Iowa State Patrol searched the building and determined the threat was false.

Moser says school was dismissed for the day and will reopen with normal hours on Thursday.
