Sylvester Stallone is NOT dead.
You may find it strange that this would be reported as news, but there is a Sylvester Stallone death hoax on social media.
Fox News says the hoax has Stallone and his brother hopping mad.
Please ignore the stupidity," the 71-year-old actor tweeted Monday. "Alive and well and happy and healthy...Still punching!"
“Rumors that my brother is dead are false,” (Frank Stallone) tweeted Monday. “What kind of sick demented cruel mind things of things like this to post? People like this are mentally deranged and don’t deserve a place in society.”
In the era of social media, the news that someone is NOT dead is a story. How many times have you opened up social media, saw a celebrity name trending, and thought, "oh no! Dead!!!" I am always relieved when it's a story of a new album or movie, etc.
For some reason, these stories of people being NOT dead remind me of an old Saturday Night Live skit. Here's every time Weekend Update anchor Chevy Chase reminded us of the death of Spanish dictator Francisco Franco.
