(DES MOINES, Iowa) Fire damaged a Des Moines apartment building Monday. Crews were called to 1726 Oakland Avenue shortly after 5 p.m.
A man tells Channel 13, WHO-TV he was driving by and saw smoke coming out of the basement, of the two-story brick building. The man said he called 9-1-1, and started to kick in doors to help get several people out of the building. No word on what caused the fire.
