Real life imitated art (or least, a Super Bowl commercial) when Amazon's Alexa lost her voice briefly this morning.
By mid-afternoon, Alexa had returned to normal and was responding to voice commands again. The issue was likely tied to troubles today with Amazon Web Services. Slack and other applications that depend on AWS as a backbone experienced downtime earlier in the day.
Luckily, Amazon Echo was back up and running as WHO listeners prepared to stream the Iowa women's basketball game this afternoon.
If you haven't tried it, just tell Alexa to play Newsradio 1040 WHO. You can event set the station as an alarm: "Alexa, set my alarm to play Newsradio 1040 WHO every day at 7 am."
Google speakers also stream WHO Radio on command.
