DES MOINES, Iowa - Variety the Children's Charity is hosting its annual telethon this weekend.
Variety has raised over $100-million dollars over the years for a wide-ranging number of programs to help at-risk children.
Organizers plan to set aside some of the money they raise this year to build an all-inclusive playground at Riverview Park in Des Moines.
"It's going to be a huge park, and it'll go great with the new stage and all of the revitalization that's going on in the park." Megan Grandgeorge tells WHO News.
She says the park will have wheelchair access, as well as zip lines for children with special needs.
Variety the Children's Charity is also known for the many accessible vans they give to organizations all over Iowa, to help transport kids.
