(DES MOINES, Iowa) The trial for a Des Moines woman, accused of killing her stepfather last year is beginning in Polk County.
Twenty-nine-year-old Sera Alexander is charged with Second Degree murder, in the death of 49-year-old Anthony Hartmann.
She had been charged with First Degree murder, but the charge was reduced last month.
Alexander's accused of shooting and killing Hartmann in May of last year, when he came to the family home to get some of his belongings.
Her mother says her daughter thought a restraining order against Hartmann was still in effect, but it had expired.
