Iowa Senator Joni Ernst says she is very worried about what the new tariffs put forward by President Trump could do to Iowa farmers. After Trump announced new tariffs on imported steel and aluminum on Thursday, Ernst released the video, Thursday.

Senator Ernst, and all members of Iowa's Congressional delegation have urged President Trump to reconsider the tariffs, out of worries it will spark a trade war, that will hurt Iowa's agriculture exports.

Republic Steel is announcing plans to reopen its Lorain, Ohio facility.  The announcement comes after President Trump signed proclamations imposing tariffs on steel and aluminum imports.  The reopening is expected to bring back more than one-thousand jobs to the plant, which plans to restart its idled electric arc furnace, casters, and rolling mills.

The U.S. Steel corporation announced it will reopen a shut down steel plant in Granite City, Illinois after Trump's announcement to enact the new steel tariff.  500 workers are being recalled to the plant.
