Section 199A fix is IN the Spending Bill

A Republican aide tells the Big Show that Iowa Congressman David Young organized a coalition of House Republicans early this week who pushed leadership to include the Section 199A fix in the omnibus. Reports indicate around 20 members tell leadership the Section 199A fix needed to be a priority in the omnibus and it’s likely many others who signed onto the Feb. 21 letter to leadership did so as well.  It appears the language would essentially give farmer cooperatives similar tax benefits that they had under the old Section 199 amounting to roughly 9% of a cooperative's income, up to half the amount of wages paid by the cooperative. The co-ops then passed the benefits of that deduction down to farmer-members.
