Teen On Driving Test Crashes Through Exam Station

Welp.

It looks like THIS Minnesota teenager will need to retest before hitting the road.

She crashed through the driver’s examination station before she even got on the road.

She wasn't hurt, but a 60-year-old woman working as the license examiner sustained minor injuries. Authorities say the vehicle was "significantly damaged."

Have you ever wondered what inspires people to become license examiners?

When I was a kid in St. Louis, I attended a religious school.  The religious schools in the city didn't have their own individual drivers' ed programs, so the schools contracted with a public school system to provide driving classes.

The kids from the other schools and I were assigned an instructor who, when a student would make a mistake, would literally scream, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING???"  He had a brake pedal on the passenger side of the car (where he sat) to prevent a novice driver from entering the highway down the wrong ramp.

You can probably figure out the mistake made by the Minnesota driver:  she put the 2014 Equinox in drive instead of reverse at the start of the test.  And now the Buffalo, Minnesota drivers exam station has an extra large window.  No one was in the office, thank goodness.

And the teen won't be charged -  she will be sentenced, however, to a lifetime of humiliation by her family at holiday gatherings.
