Barring a court challenge, it looks like there will be a four-way Democratic primary in the 3rd congressional district race.
A three-member panel that decides challenges to candidates' nominations rejected an appeal of her nomination Tuesday.
Greenfield submitted nominating petitions two days before the deadline, then learned that night that her campaign manager had forged signatures. The next day, Greenfield withdrew from the race, took back the petitions and tried to get new ones.
They submitted the petitions about 3 minutes before the deadline, and were found to be short on the number of signatures needed.
Greenfield then asked the Democratic 3rd District committee to approve her addition to the ballot, which they did on Monday.
Secretary of State Paul Pate had yet to certify her nomination, but indicated he probably would do so. Pate said during the panel's meeting that it looked like Greenfield was trying to get "three bites at the apple" in a way noone has done before.
