Two more Iowa counties have emerald ash borer

Marshall and Tama Counties have been added to the list of those with emerald ash borer infestations.

Mike Kintner of the Iowa Department of Agriculture says a land owner north of Le Grand spotted the tell-tale signs of woodpecker damage on an ash tree, and experts confirmed EAB larvae.

The ash-tree killing insect has been detected in 55 Iowa counties.   Kintner says they get more EAB reports this time of year, while trees are dormant, and land-owners can easily spot the damage.

He says if you're in a county, where EAB has not been found yet, and you see damage, you're asked to contact the Iowa DNR.
