There are different interpretations of what this could mean on a large scale, but more specifically reports indicate this morning that a Delaware Bankruptcy judge approved a consent decree between EPA and bankrupt refiner Philadelphia Energy Solutions. According to Politico, that will allowing PES to get out of much of its obligation under the Renewable Fuel Standard for 2016, 2017, and 2018. Growth Energy CEO Emily Skor says they filed an objection with the court and she criticized the decision, saying it “will give the Carlyle Group a free pass for skirting the law, even after they neglected the refinery while pocketing hundreds of millions of dollars in cash payouts.” More on today's Big Show with NCGA President Kevin Skunes, listen here:
